Anne Travis is a fine art photographer based in Northern California. She spent her childhood in Los Angeles and later moved to Boston, where she pursued a career in medicine. Photography developed alongside her professional life as a creative counterbalance—an opportunity to slow down, observe closely, and engage with the visual world in a more intuitive way.
A formative trip to Southern Africa in 2016 sparked her initial focus on wildlife photography, sharpening her sensitivity to light, gesture, and timing. After relocating to Northern California, her work broadened to include architectural, macro, creative, and monochrome photography, reflecting her growing interest in form, structure, and abstraction. Her photographs often emphasize geometry, texture, and tonal relationships, drawing attention to details that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Anne regularly submits her work to juried photography competitions and exhibitions encompassing a wide range of themes. Her practice continues to evolve, shaped by both the discipline of careful observation and an enduring curiosity about how photography can transform everyday and extraordinary subjects alike.
